Can You Find the Book, Comb, Glass, and Candle? Look Closely!

Some pictures look simple at first glance—until you’re given a list of objects to find.

Today’s challenge is straightforward:

Can you find the book, comb, glass, and candle hidden somewhere in the picture?

Take a moment before reading further and carefully examine the entire image.

Don’t rush.

The objects may be hiding in places you wouldn’t normally think to look.

Start With the Whole Picture

Instead of immediately focusing on one section, take a few seconds to look at the image as a whole.

Notice the shapes, patterns, objects, and background details.

Sometimes a hidden item doesn’t look exactly like the object you’re expecting. It may blend into another part of the picture through its shape, position, or surrounding details.

Hidden-object puzzles work partly because our attention naturally moves toward certain parts of an image while other areas receive less attention. Research on visual search has found that finding concealed objects involves systematic eye movements and attention to a specific target among distractions.

Your Four Targets

There are four objects to locate:

  • 📖 Book
  • 💇 Comb
  • 🥛 Glass
  • 🕯️ Candle

Try to find all four before checking any answer.

You may discover one almost immediately while another seems impossible to locate.

That’s part of the fun.

Look Beyond the Obvious

If you are having trouble, don’t assume the objects aren’t there.

Try scanning the image section by section.

Start at the upper-left corner and slowly work toward the right. Then move down and repeat the process.

Pay particular attention to edges, corners, unusual shapes, and areas where several objects overlap.

A hidden object can become surprisingly difficult to recognize when it shares visual features with the things surrounding it.

Still Can’t Find Them?

Try changing the way you look at the picture.

Move slightly farther away from your screen and take another look.

You can also briefly relax your focus instead of staring intensely at individual details. Sometimes changing your viewing approach helps a familiar shape stand out.

And don’t spend so long searching that your eyes become tired.

Take a short break and return to the puzzle with fresh eyes.

Research has also found that individual differences in visual imagery can influence performance on hidden-object searches, showing that people don’t necessarily approach these tasks in exactly the same way.

Is This an Eye or Intelligence Test?

Not really.

Although puzzles like this are sometimes described online as “eye tests” or “brain tests,” they aren’t substitutes for professional vision examinations or psychological assessments.

Finding an object quickly doesn’t prove that someone is more intelligent, observant, creative, or talented than another person.

The result can be influenced by many factors, including familiarity with puzzles, image quality, attention, visual experience, and simply where your eyes happen to look first.

The best way to view this challenge is as a fun observation game.

The Real Challenge

The interesting part isn’t just finding the four objects.

It’s noticing how your attention changes once you know exactly what you’re searching for.

An object that seemed invisible a moment earlier can suddenly become obvious.

And once you spot it, you may wonder how you missed it in the first place.

So, take one more careful look.

Can you find the book, comb, glass, and candle?

Don’t give up too quickly—sometimes the hardest object to find is hiding in the most ordinary-looking part of the picture.
