Slow Cooker Italian Chicken – Just 3 Ingredients
3-Ingredient Slow Cooker Italian Chicken
This 3-Ingredient Slow Cooker Italian Chicken is a legendary “dump-and-go” recipe that proves you don’t need a long grocery list for a flavorful meal. The vinegar and herbs in the Italian dressing naturally tenderize the chicken, while Parmesan melts into the juices to create a savory, slightly salty sauce. It’s perfect for meal prep or a busy weeknight dinner.
Ingredients
| Core Ingredients | Amount |
|---|---|
| Boneless, skinless chicken breasts | 2 lbs |
| Italian salad dressing | 1 cup |
| Grated Parmesan cheese | ½ cup |
Directions
Step 1: Prep the Slow Cooker
Lightly grease the inside of your slow cooker with cooking spray or a small drizzle of oil to prevent sticking.
Step 2: Layer the Chicken
Place the chicken breasts in a single layer at the bottom of the slow cooker. A slight overlap is fine, but a single layer ensures even cooking.
Step 3: Whisk and Pour
In a small bowl, whisk together the Italian dressing and Parmesan cheese. Pour over the chicken, using a spoon to coat every piece evenly.
Step 4: Slow Cook
Cover and cook on LOW for 4–6 hours or HIGH for 2.5–3.5 hours. Chicken is ready when it reaches 165°F internally and pulls apart easily.
Step 5: Shred and Soak
Use two forks to shred the chicken directly in the slow cooker. Stir it back into the dressing and cheese so it absorbs all the zesty flavors.
Step 6: Serve
Season with a crack of black pepper if desired. Serve over pasta, steamed rice, or in a toasted sub roll for an Italian-style sandwich.
