One Small Misunderstanding Leads to a Funny Surprise

A priest once offered a nun a lift to the convent after a long day. During the drive, they began talking about everyday matters, including their work, responsibilities, and the many challenges that came with serving their community.

As they approached the convent, the nun suddenly remembered something and said, “Father, remember Psalm 129.”

The priest nodded thoughtfully. He assumed she was reminding him of an important lesson from Scripture, so he became quiet and continued driving carefully.

A few moments later, the nun repeated, “Father, remember Psalm 129?”

Again, the priest nodded. He decided that perhaps the verse carried a deeper meaning that he needed to consider.

When they finally reached the convent, the nun thanked him for the ride and went inside.

The priest returned to the church, still thinking about the mysterious reminder. He became curious and decided to look up Psalm 129 for himself. He wanted to understand exactly what the nun had been trying to tell him.

After finding the passage, he was surprised by what he read. The wording he discovered encouraged the reader to continue forward and look beyond what was immediately visible.

The priest sat back and laughed.

“So that was what she meant!” he said.
