Instructions:
Step 1 – Prep Oven and Meat: Preheat oven to 350°F (175°C) and grease a 9 x 13-inch baking dish. In a skillet over medium-high heat, cook 1 lb ground beef with 1 chopped onion until the meat is browned and the onion is tender. Drain excess fat.

Step 3 – First Layer: Place half of the sliced potatoes in the bottom of the baking dish. Spread one-third of the soup mixture over the potatoes, then add half of the meat mixture.
Step 4 – Second Layer: Repeat with the remaining potatoes, another one-third of the soup mixture, and the remaining meat mixture.
Step 5 – Top and Bake: Pour the remaining one-third of the soup mixture over the top and sprinkle evenly with 1 ½ cups shredded cheese. Cover with foil and bake for 1 hour 30 minutes, or until the potatoes are tender.
Step 6 – Serve: Remove from the oven and enjoy hot.
