Easy 3-Ingredient Sausage & Cream Cheese Casserole
This 3-Ingredient Sausage Cream Cheese Casserole (also called “Sausage Squares”) is comfort food made ridiculously easy. Flaky, buttery crescent dough holds a rich, savory filling, and the cream cheese melts right into the sausage crumbles for a creamy, perfectly seasoned bite without any extra spices. Perfect for holiday brunches, or cut into small squares for a game-day snack everyone will fight over.
3-Ingredient Sausage Cream Cheese Casserole
Ingredients:
- Ground sausage — 1 lb
- Cream cheese, softened — 8 oz
- Crescent roll dough — 2 cans (8 oz each)
Directions:
Step 1: Preheat and Prep
Preheat oven to 350°F. Lightly grease a 9×13-inch baking dish so the bottom layer of dough doesn’t stick.
Step 2: Cook the Sausage
In a skillet over medium heat, cook the ground sausage until fully browned, breaking it into small crumbles. Drain excess grease to keep the bottom crust from getting soggy.
Step 3: Add the Cream Cheese
Stir the softened cream cheese into the hot sausage until melted and evenly coating every piece. Remove from heat.
Step 4: Layer the Dough
Unroll one can of crescent dough and press it into the bottom of the baking dish.
Step 5: Assemble the Casserole
Spread the sausage and cream cheese mixture over the bottom dough layer. Unroll the second can of crescent dough and place it on top, sealing the edges around the bottom layer.
Step 6: Bake
Bake 20–25 minutes, until the top is deep golden brown. Let rest 5 minutes before slicing so the cheese sets for perfect squares.
