Four-Ingredient Nougat Bars
Ingredients
- 2 packages miniature marshmallows
- 2 tablespoons melted butter
- 2 packages white chocolate chips
- 1½ cups red and green gumdrops
Directions
Step 1: Melt the marshmallows
In a large microwave-safe bowl, combine the marshmallows and melted butter. Heat on high for 1–2 minutes until the marshmallows puff up. Stir until smooth.
Step 2: Melt the chocolate
In another microwave-safe bowl, heat the white chocolate chips in 30-second bursts, stirring each time, until fully melted and smooth.
Step 3: Mix together
Add the melted chocolate to the marshmallow mixture and stir well until everything is fully combined. The mixture will be thick and sticky.
Step 4: Add gumdrops
Gently fold in the gumdrops so they’re evenly spread throughout.
Step 5: Shape the bars
Line a baking dish with parchment paper or foil, leaving extra on the sides for easy lifting. Press the mixture evenly into the dish using a spatula or your hands.
Step 6: Chill
Refrigerate for 1–2 hours, or until firm.
Step 7: Cut and serve
Lift the set nougat out using the paper overhang, place on a cutting board, and slice into bars or squares.
Tips & Variations
- Switch up the mix-ins: Add chopped nuts, dried fruit, or even extra chocolate chips for more texture and flavor.
- Try different chocolate: Swap white chocolate for milk or dark chocolate, or mix a couple together for a swirled look.
